Mark Your Calendars for Two Sales Tax Holidays, First Holiday Is July 31- August 2; Second Holiday is August 7-9

Mark your calendars. For 2020 only,Tennessee has approved two sales tax holiday weekends to boost the economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The first tax-free holiday weekend begins Friday, July 31, and ends Sunday, August 2. During this time, consumers may purchase clothing and school supplies that are $200 or less per item and computers and other qualifying electronic devices that cost $3,000 or less per item without paying sales tax. The second sales tax holiday weekend focuses on restaurant sales and begins on Friday, August 7 and ends Sunday, August 9.
