Traffic was snarled in the westbound lanes of I-40 for several hours Wednesday after a tractor-trailer overturned at the I-40 Westbound Rest Area. It happened shortly after 9 a.m. The THP says 24-year-old Alfred Taino Thomas Correa, of Charlotte, was exiting the Interstate into the rest area and was going too fast in a curve which caused his 2013 Peterbilt to overturn. The wreck blocked the rest area off-ramp. The truck driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt. No charges are pending.
