The federal government has granted a Major Disaster Declaration and is making federal recovery assistance available to 20 counties impacted from severe weather, flooding, and straight-line winds on May 3 and May 4, 2020. The declaration means that federal funding is available for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the storms in 20 counties in Middle and West Tennessee. More than $14 million in damages to structures and utilities was reported by those counties. Federal funding is also available for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
