Crossville City Manager reports steady sales tax

In his monthly report to council, Crossville City Manager Greg Word says that sales tax collections for April were down by only $20,000 from the previous year. City officials were expecting a larger decrease due to the pandemic. Wholesale beer tax collections were flat for the fiscal year, with a $100 increase over last year. Liquor revenue is outpacing previous years with $521,000 in revenue for the year to date. Collections from the Hotel Occupancy Tax have declined since the pandemic, with April collections at $4636 and May collections at $8342. Both months showing a substantial drop from last year.
