NASCAR held a midweek race Thursday night at Kansas Speedway for the Super Start Batteries 400. NASCAR is inching closer to the 2020 Playoffs while they are 7 races out from the 10 race playoff. Entering the Kansas race Kyle Busch had not won a stage in 2020 but that all changed as he won Stage 1 last night with his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates (Hamlin & Truex Jr.) finishing 2nd and 3rd behind him. Busch would later collide with the wall knocking him out of contention for a race win. Brad Keselowski was awarded a Stage 2 win with his Team Penske teammate (Blaney) finishing 2nd. Accidents were common last night with Matt Kenseth and Bubba Wallace colliding together as well as Matt DiBenedetto and Ryan Preece having hard collisions with the wall. Denny Hamlin would go on to hold off Brad Keselowski for his 5th win of 2020 he now leads the Cup Series this year in wins with Kevin Harvick in behind him with 4 wins. NASCAR returns to action August 2nd when they will be in New Hampshire for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at 2:00 PM on NBCSN.
