An elderly Morgan County man reported missing Thursday (7/30/2020) was rescued Saturday afternoon (8/1/2020). Mr. William “Bill” Whitten, age 84, lives in the Goby area of Morgan County and suffers from early stages of dementia. He disappeared around 4:30 Thursday afternoon when he walked outside to his mailbox. Multiple rescue and fire agencies from Morgan and the surrounding counties joined in the search as did the Morgan County Correctional Complex dog tracking team and THP helicopters. Mr. Whitten was found alive Saturday afternoon and flown by LifeStar to UT Medical Center. Authorities did not immediately release his condition.
