The total COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 139,175 as of Thursday, August 20, 2020 (up 1, 375) including 1,488 deaths (up 36), 6,156 hospitalizations (UP 87) and 100,967 recovered (1,882).
Cumberland County’s active COVID-19 case count is at 287 for Thursday, August 20, 2020, up 25 from Wednesday. Two more Cumberland County school-age children have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to 58 as of Thursday. Of that number, 16 cases were reported in the last 14 days. Cumberland County’s positive cases are 658, an increase of 31 people. Recoveries are at 364, up 6. Death toll remains the same at 7.
The Fentress County School District reports that as of Thursday, August 20, 2020 there were 104 students in quarantine due to direct exposure to COVID-19. Seven students have tested positive. Five faculty and staff members are in quarantine with 2 testing positive.
Ten more school age children have contracted coronavirus in Putnam County, bringing the total to 309 as of Thursday, August 20, 2020. Of that number, 51 cases were reported in the last two weeks. Putnam County Schools reported 455 people quarantined in the school system, up 18 from Tuesday. The school district also had 37 confirmed positive cases, an increase of 8 from Tuesday.
County-wide, Putnam’s active cases are at 556 (up 25 from Wednesday); the positive case count is 2,062 (up 56 from Wednesday); Recoveries are 1,484 (up 29 from Wednesday).
