The Crossville City Council, in special session on Monday, approved keeping the property tax rate the same. In a unanimous vote, council voted to keep the tax rate at .5905. Earlier council had considered a five cent increase, however Council Member J.H. Graham said he could not justify an increase when the city has $14 million in a rainy day fund. Council also approved the 20-21 Budget that will include steps 2 and 3 of the employee compensation plan, and additional paving projects. The total budget is estimated at $17.7 million with an estimated revenue of $18.2 million.
