Tennessee governor delays scheduled execution due to virus

Because of the pandemic, Governor Bill Lee has issued a temporary reprieve to Tennessee death row inmate Harold Wayne Nichols until December 31, 2020. The 59-year-old Nichols had been scheduled to die by electrocution on August 4. Nichols was convicted of rape and first-degree felony murder in the 1988 death of Karen Pulley in Hamilton County.
