An early morning house fire is under investigated. Shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the 6000 block of Plateau Road when he observed smoke coming from a residence at 6425. He and another Deputy beat on the doors and windows to alert anyone inside but there was no answer. Tire tracks were observed in the grass on the left side of the home but there were no vehicles on the property. The Cumberland County Fire Department put out the blaze which they believe was set intentionally. An investigator was called to the scene. The report did not list the owner of the house.
