Bowing to public pressure, state officials have said they are going to share information relating to COVID-19 cases in schools, but one Tennessee school district has made that information available on their own. Putnam County has posted a dashboard of school coronavirus case counts to the Board Of Education website. A district snapshot posted on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 showed that there were 27 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Putnam County schools and over 265 students, teachers, staff and at least one bus driver have been quarantined. The number of people quarantined has more than tripled in just a few days and represent 2.3 percent. Masks are required in Putnam County schools.
