The Fairfield Glade Police Department announces receiving $20,000 in Federal Grant Funds to Support Highway Safety Education and Enforcement Efforts in Fairfield Glade. Over 383 federal grants exceeding $22 million in total have been awarded to law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners across Tennessee. Chief Michael Williams said that “these grant funds will continue to support the safety of our residents and visitors. We are excited to continue partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to educate drivers, especially senior drivers in our community and to have aggressive enforcement campaigns to ensure our roadways are safe,” Williams stated. Fairfield Glade Police will use the money to assist in the purchase of passive traffic control devices as well as to have extra officers on the roadways during peak times to aggressively enforce traffic laws especially during holidays to help stop those driving while distracted or impaired.
