During community comment at the Cumberland County Board of Education, board members heard from at least two parents requesting the reversal of the mask mandate. John Mathews, reported to be a hazardous waste worker, addressed the board saying the improper use of masks actually increases chances of spreading the virus. Mathews urged the board to rescind the mandate and opt for other measures to curb the spread. The board will review information provided by the parents and may take action in the future.
